The Starke County Clerk’s Office has received a number of inquiries from concerned citizens about text messages regarding early voting.
Starke County Clerk Vicki Cooley stated that one of the texts apparently claims an individual’s early vote has not been recorded as of yet. She said if you receive one of these messages it is important to know that it is absolutely not from the Starke County Clerk’s Office. Continue reading
Election Day may not be until November, but the Starke County Clerk’s office is busy preparing for ballots to be cast.
Clerk Vicki Cooley says there’s a misconception that all of the work happens in the weeks leading up to Election Day, but she says their offices are working year-round to complete an array of tasks.
Election Day was all about the Democrats in Starke County.
“We had a strong bunch of candidates this time. Not only that, but we had the backing of the Democrat Party. Everyone worked together and we were able to do stuff for the candidates that we haven’t done in the past. The bottom line was it paid off,” Democratic Party Chairman Kenny Wallace said.
Longtime Sheriff’s Deputy Bill Dulin posted a solid victory over Republican Bill Bope in his quest to succeed term-limited Sheriff Oscar Cowen. Dulin plans to take a comprehensive look at how the department is run. Continue reading
