Knox Students Recognized for Helping with Meal Delivery

When the Knox Community School Corporation began its COVID-19 meal delivery program, a number of students were among those who stepped up to help. Transportation Director Tara Pitts says 13 students helped deliver food to children in Starke County.

Knox Community Schools Participate in Summer Nutrition Program

 The Knox Community Schools are participating in the U.S.D.A. Summer Feeding Program this year. This is an opportunity for members of the community to receive meals Monday through Thursday throughout the summer. Breakfast will be served at the Knox High School at 7:15 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. The program lasts from June 9 until July 3. Any questions may be directed to Knox Community Schools Director of Food Services Sandra Landry at 574-772-1632.

Three Area Schools to Participate in USDA Summer Food Program

The Knox and Oregon-Davis Schools have announced that they will be participating in the USDA Summer Food Program, and now Culver Community Schools will also offer free breakfast and lunch to any child age 18 and younger.

This is the third year that the school will be offering this program and six sites will be offering free food. For a list of the locations, click here. Culver High School will be offering breakfast from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET from June 4 through the 29 and from July 9 to July 16 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Breakfast and lunch will be served at the Culver Elementary School from June 4 to August 10. Breakfast is from 7:45-8:30 a.m. and lunch is from noon to 12:30 p.m. ET.

Oregon-Davis to Offer Free Lunch

The Oregon-Davis School Corporation will be participating in the USDA Summer Food Program this summer.

Free lunch will be offered to all children ages 18 and younger at the Oregon-Davis Elementary School cafeteria beginning June 11 through July 13, from 11:30 a.m. to noon. If you are 19 and older, you will be charged $2 per lunch. You don’t even have to be a part of the Oregon-Davis School community. Everyone is eligible to participate without residential or financial stipulations.

Knox Schools to Provide Free Meals Through June

The Knox Community School Corporation will be participating in the USDA Summer Food Program again this year.

Free meals will be made available to children 18 years of age and under beginning in June. Any child is welcome to eat for free at the Knox High School from June 4 to July 26, and at the Knox Elementary School from June 4 to June 28.

No child will be discriminated against and every child from all over the area is welcome to participate. Both breakfast and lunch will be served.

USDA Summer Food Program in Place until July 28th at Knox Middle School

The USDA Summer Food Program is still available at the Knox Middle School. Free breakfast and lunch is available to children ages 18 and younger. Breakfast is served from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Knox Middle School.

Kit Ream, Food Services Director at the Knox Community School Corporation, says the Cafeteria staff has been serving between 100 to 170 students for lunch and a few less for breakfast. You are encouraged to take advantage of this free service weekdays from now until July 28th.

USDA Summer Food Program Begins Today at North Judson-San Pierre Schools

The North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation will participate in the USDA Summer Food Service program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge who are 18 and younger.

Meals will be served in the North Judson-San Pierre Elementary School. Breakfast will be served from 7:45-8:15 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. CT. Adults may eat lunch at the Elementary School for a charge of $2.00.

Summer School, USDA Summer Food Program Begins Monday in Knox

The regular school year just ended and now officials at the Knox Community School Corporation are turning their attention to summer school. The Knox Elementary School staff will hold summer school from Monday, June 6th through Thursday, June 23rd from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. each day. The Knox High School staff will hold summer school from Monday, June 6th to Thursday, June 30th for the first session. The second session will be from Tuesday, July 5th to Thursday, July 28th. Classes will be held in the Knox Middle School due to renovations at the High School during the summer months. Students will be in school from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. each day. Summer school will not be in session on Fridays.
