Three Arrested on Drug Charges in La Porte

An in-depth investigation by the La Porte County Drug Task Force resulted in the arrest of three people on charges of dealing cocaine.

Police say 34-year-old Carl K. Adkins, 44-year-old Stephanie Berg and 24-year-old Brandon Zachary were arrested on arrest warrants after investigating a resident complaint about suspicious activity at 214 Ohio Street in La Porte. Those warrants were executed Monday morning where officers were able to collect evidence, according to a press release.

Knox Woman Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison for Manufacturing Methamphetamine

 
 
A Knox woman was sentenced to 20 years in prison for a conviction of Manufacturing Methamphetamine. Stephanie Berg, 39, admitted that on Feb. 15 she and several other people were cooking pseudoephedrine-based products into methamphetamine at the Country Place Apartments on West Madison Street in Plymouth, a family housing complex adjacent to a public park. The proximity of the residence to a public park enhanced the charge to a Class A felony.

Meth Lab Bust Leads to Several Arrests

 Several people were arrested Friday afternoon when Plymouth police officers were called to an apartment complex in response to a man who had allegedly violated a no-trespass order for the property. Tyler Byers was reportedly seen going into apartment number 24 at Country Place Apartments, and officers traveled to the apartment and stumbled upon an unexpected scene.

Hobart Woman Arrested for False Informing, Reckless Driving

A Hobart woman was arrested Friday after she reportedly told police her name and it wasn’t her correct identification.

Police saw a vehicle traveling around Henry Street and saw that the driver disregarded stop signs. The officer engaged his emergency lights and the driver didn’t stop. He continued to follow her at a slow pace. He eventually pulled over the car at the intersection of Bower Street and Culver Road. Police asked the driver for her name and she said her name was “Tracey Rowe”. Police ran her information and found that “Tracey Rowe” was not on file. Police took her to jail on preliminary charges of Resisting Law Enforcement and Reckless Driving.
