Sign Replacement at Henry F. Schricker House Discussed During Knox Planning Commission Meeting

While discussing new business during Tuesday night’s Knox Planning Commission meeting, Planning Administrator Kenny Pfost alerted members of a request he received about the Henry F. Schricker House.

Pfost said a representative asked him about installing a sign in the front yard of the Henry F. Schricker House on Main Street. Under the current sign ordinance, they would be limited to a 2×2 sign because it is in a residential area. Continue reading

Starke County Historical Society Museum Closes for Repairs

The Starke County Historical Museum will be closed today through January 31st, for maintenance and repair.

Also, when you drive by the museum, you are urged to admire the Memorial Tree donated by Hensler’s Nursery. A record number of memorial bows and names have been attached this year. Toni Snearly, Historical Society volunteer, said that 285 bows have been placed on the tree at 401 South Main St., in Knox.

Walkerton Fourth of July Celebration Begins Today

Going back to the 1950’s, Walkerton, Indiana has been one of the places to be over the 4th of July weekend. This year is no exception and it all gets started today with the Independence Day Parade at 7:30 p.m. ET. The parade will begin at the Urey Middle School and ends at the John Glenn High School. There’s plenty of weekend fun, so grab a schedule, and enjoy some of the events.
