The North Judson Town Council reorganized and made some additional appointments when it met Monday for the first time in 2016. Wendy Hoppe has once again been selected to serve as council president. She will also remain the council’s representative on the Starke County Economic Development Foundation Board of Directors. Starke County Environmental Management District Collection Event Planned for June

 
 

The Starke County Environmental Management District will hold its two-day collection event in June.

The purpose of this event is to help residents get rid of unwanted and recyclable material from their households.

On Friday, June 13 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. CT, Starke County residents may discard tires, appliances, computers and televisions. Five tires will be accepted for free. One of those tires may be a farm-type tire.

Starke County Environmental Assessment Bills to be Sent this Week

The staff at the Starke County Environmental Management office will be sending out Envrionmental Assessment bills by the end of this week.

The estimated $20 fee is the state’s effort to reduce waste to landfills. It also allows recycling sites in the county and the fee helps provide the county-wide Environment Day. This year’s Environment Day event is scheduled for June 15th and 16th. More information on that event will be released at a later date.

Starke County Environmental Management Assessment Bills to be Sent Today

Workers prepare computers for transport during last year's environmental collection event

The staff at the Starke County Environmental Management Office will be sending out annual assessment bills today. A coupon for the environmental collection event April 27th-30th will be included with the notice.

The event will be held at the Starke County Highway Garage on U.S. 35, north of Knox. Appliances, computers, computers, televisions, hazardous waste, medications, fluorescent lamps and PCB ballasts and tires will be accepted at this event. Visit the ad on this website for specific times and product limits. The event is for Starke County residents only.
