Indiana Department of Correction Identifies Officer Killed in State Prison Stabbing

The correctional officer killed in Sunday’s stabbing at the Indiana State Prison has been identified. Lieutenant Eugene Lasco died from his injuries, after he was attacked by an offender, according to the Indiana Department of Correction. Lasco was 57 years old, lived in LaPorte County, and had worked at the prison since 2009.

One Arrested in Stabbing Incident in Pulaski County

One man was arrested in an alleged stabbing incident that occurred at a Winamac home on Sunday evening.

According to Pulaski County Sheriff Jeff Richwine, Robert Rowe reportedly stabbed the male victim while the victim was laying down in a bedroom at a home in the 2500 block of N. 175 E. The pair was allegedly arguing prior to the incident. Police say the victim was stabbed with a kitchen knife and sustained lacerations to his chest and left side. He was taken to the hospital and later airlifted to another facility. The depth of the cuts is not known.

Police, Coroner Investigate Stabbing, Shooting Incident in Medaryville

One man is dead after an incident at a residence in Medaryville on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers arrived at a home in the 200 block of  S. Waldron in Medaryville at 12:41 p.m. after receiving a report about a stabbing and shooting there.  Pulaski County Coroner John Behny says the cause and manner of death are under investigation at this time pending an autopsy and toxicology results.

LaPorte Police Investigating Early Morning Stabbing

 
 

Police in LaPorte are investigating an early morning stabbing that sent a 20-year-old man to the hospital. It happened in the 600 Block of Maple Avenue. Police responded at 2:43 a.m. and found the victim lying on the ground holding his abdomen. He told the police he had been stabbed several times by someone he knew. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The investigation is continuing.
