A not-for-profit service and support organization for the military, their families and veterans held an opening ceremony on Sept. 8 for Operation Care Package. St. Joe Valley Blue Star Mothers is once again holding events in Starke County in an effort to garner support for Operation Care Package, an event that Bold said involves packing care packages to be sent overseas to deployed troops. Last year, Boldt said the organization sent 1300 care packages to soldiers, and they’re looking to do it all over again this year.
