Pulaski County Sheriff Reports Several Weekend Drug Arrests

 

It was another busy weekend for the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department. Sheriff Jeff Richwine told the county council Monday the department had several drug arrests. “One of them was a guy going down [State Road] 39 106 miles an hour,” he explained. “They get him stopped, run the dog around him, and he’s got almost $5,000 cash, a bunch of marijuana, and some needles.”

La Porte Police Department Participates in Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over

The ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ campaign resulted in 18 citations and 7 arrests by the La Porte Police Department over a 25-day-period. Approximately 220 law-enforcement agencies across the state had overtime patrols supported through federal highway safety funds administered by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.

La Porte Police Captain Pat Hemphill said these extra enforcement efforts help save the lives of impaired drivers, their passengers and others out on the road. He stated that officers in the La Porte Police Department are committed year-round to keeping roads as safe as possible. Continue reading

Knox City Police Chief, Clint Norem, has released the Department’s statistics for the month of November.

The Department had 443 calls, 11 accident reports and 44 incident reports. There were 5 Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Reports, 18 people arrested on 21 traffic charges, 36 people arrested on 58 criminal charges, 8 juveniles arrested on various charges and 4 people cited for 4 ordinance violations. 5 battery arrests and 4 warrant arrests were made and 17 drug charges were filed.
