Marcus Kammrath

Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Marcus Kammrath, a member of the Boys Basketball Team at South Central High School.

Marcus led his team to the Mid-Winter Classic Holiday Tourney Championship with outstanding games back-to-back. He poured in 23 points in a come-from-behind 61-50 win over Washington Township in the opening game, then had a double-double with 16 points and an incredible 20 rebounds in the championship game as the Satellites beat Westville 69-64 in overtime.

The 6-8 Senior was named the Most Valuable Player in the tournament as a result of his outstanding effort.

An outstanding student leader, Marcus is President of both Student Government and the German Club, Treasurer of the National Honor Society and a member of Leadership LaPorte County. He also participates in Track and is active in the youth group at his church.

Marcus is the son of Edward and Deb Kammrath and will be featured on “Sports Talk with Nathan Welter” Thursday night on WKVI with a featured picture and story on wkvi.com.

Congratulations to Marcus Kammrath of South Central High School, our “Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week”.
