LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit Investigations Result in Three Arrests

 
 

Investigators from the LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit recently arrested three people on drug-related charges. Dayle R. Pace, 27, of LaPorte, is charged with the A felony offense of dealing heroin. She’s being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond and is due to appear in court on Friday. Shane Ransom, 33, of LaPorte, is free on bond after being charged with the felony offense of dealing marijuana. So is Rebecca Johnson, 27, of LaPorte, who also faces a felony charge of dealing in marijuana.

The LaPorte County Metro Operations Task Force is comprised of investigators from the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office and LaPorte Police Department. They are charged with investigating drug activity. Anybody with information about drug activity within their jurisdiction is urged to call them at (219) 325-9022.

Westville Correctional Center Employee Arrested On Warrant

A Westville Correctional Center employee was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Dealing a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Hydrocodone) as a Class B felony. Officers with the LaPorte City Police Department arrested 26-year-old Joseph Altemus of LaPorte on Wednesday, Nov. 6 and transported him to the LaPorte County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

The warrant had been issued as a result of an LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit investigation with the assistance of the Indiana Department of Corrections.

Three Wanted Criminals Arrested in LaPorte County

 
 
Officers with the LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit arrested three people Friday on outstanding criminal warrants.

Officers served an arrest warrant to a suspect in the LaPorte County Jail. Shalovis Robinson, 22, was being held in the jail for violating probation at the time she was served the warrant. She is now being charged with three counts of Dealing a Schedule I Controlled Substance (heroin), a Class B felony.

Two Marijuana Growing Sites Found, Plants Seized

 
 

Eighty-six marijuana plants were seized Thursday after officers from the LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit and the Indiana State Police Eradication Team unearthed two growing operations.

One operation was found in the 9800 West block of County Road 300 North in Coolspring Township in LaPorte County. Seventy-three plants were seized at that location while 13 plants were seized from a location in the 3600 block of Brookside Drive in Long Beach.

LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit Makes 7th Heroin Arrest in Two Weeks

The LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit made its sixth and seventh arrests related to heroin within the last two weeks on Friday. A 31-year-old LaPorte man was arrested by investigators from the LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit on Friday on an outstanding warrant for two counts of dealing in heroin. Benjamin C. Heiman had been wanted for two counts of Dealing a Schedule I Controlled Substance (heroin), both Class A felonies. He was arrested at his home located in the 300 block of Niles Street in LaPorte without incident.

LaPorte Country Metro Operations Unit Makes Fifth Heroin Arrest This Week

 
 
A 35-year-old LaPorte man was arrested for an outstanding warrant for possession of heroin – another heroin-related arrest in the county by the LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit. On Tuesday, Aug. 13, investigators arrested Jack Heitz, who had been wanted for Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance (heroin), a Class D felony and Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor. The warrant had been issued by La Porte County Circuit Court.

Teenagers Arrested on Drug Charges

 
 

Two LaPorte County teenagers have been arrested by the LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit on drug charges.

18-year-old Matthew E. Jageman and 19-year-old Brandon L. Williams were both arrested without incident and are being held in the LaPorte County Jail with bonds set at $25,000.

Jageman has been charged with Dealing in a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance (heroin), Possession of a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance, Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance. Williams has been charged with Aiding, Inducing, or Causing an Offense, Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance.

The pair will appear for their initial hearing in LaPorte County Circuit Court on Friday, June 28.

Three men were arrested by LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit officers Wednesday on active arrest warrants.

Officers went to the home of Julian Townsel, 19, and was taken into custody without incident. The warrant was issued by LaPorte Circuit Court for Revocation of Suspended Sentence for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Dealing in Cocaine or Narcotic Drug. Continue reading

LaPorte Teenager Arrested on Dealing Heroin Charge

 
 
An 18-year-old LaPorte man was arrested Thursday after an investigation by the LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit and officers from the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department.

Officers checked a vehicle that was parked in the Stone Lake Beach parking lot and an on-scene investigation resulted in the arrest of Christopher Miller of LaPorte. He was arrested on a preliminary charge of Dealing in a Schedule II Controlled Substance, heroin, as a Class A Felony. He was booked into the LaPorte County Jail and will appear in LaPorte County Circuit Court on Friday in an initial hearing.

Miller is being held on a $100,000 bond.

LaPorte County Teenagers Arrested after Burglary, Pursuit Incident

LaPorte County officers arrested three Gary teenagers after a burglary and pursuit incident in LaPorte.

Shortly before 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning, officers from the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office were notified of a residential burglary in progress in the 1200 north block of Goldring Road. The vehicle was then observed fleeing the area. Officers from the Michigan City Police Department saw the vehicle driving erratically along County Road 400 north near U.S. 421. The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and a pursuit began. The driver refused to stop and went onto Highway 94 and continued traveling at high speed.

LaPorte Man Arrested For Possession of Cocaine

A LaPorte man is jailed on a $100,000 bond accused of dealing in cocaine. Decarlo Knighten, 35, was taken into custody without incident at his State Street home Monday by officers from the La Porte County Metro Operations Unit and United States Drug Enforcement Administration. They obtained arrest and search warrants for his home following an ongoing investigation into the sale and distribution of narcotics in the LaPorte area.

LaPorte Man Arrested on Drug Dealing Charges

A LaPorte man was arrested Wednesday as the result of drug enforcement taking place in LaPorte County.

Investigators from the LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit arrested 42-year-old Jody Harradon on charges of Dealing a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Hydrocodone) as a Class B Felony and Dealing a Schedule I Controlled Substance (Oxycodone) as a Class A Felony. He was taken into custody at his home without incident. Warrants had been issued for his arrest on these charges.

$120,000 in Marijuana Plants Eradicated in LaPorte County

These marijuana plants were eradicated from a LaPorte County cornfield

Detectives and members of the LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit and the Indiana State Police Marijuana Eradication Team removed 40 large, mature marijuana plants from a cornfield on Small Road just east of County Road 500 West in LaPorte County.

Surveillance of the area and tips from the public led to the confiscation of the plants which would have sold on the street for approximately $120,000.

Two LaPorte County Residents Arrested on Heroin Charges

Two LaPorte residents were arrested Thursday, February 9th after an ongoing investigation by the LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit into the sale and distribution of heroin in the City of LaPorte.

Ryan Thomason, 26, and Jesse Brown, 24, were taken into custody without incident. Thomason has been charged with Dealing a Narcotic Drug in excess of three grams, a Class A Felony. Brown has been charged with Aiding, Inducing and Causing an Offense, a Class A Felony. Both are being held in the LaPorte County Jail pending appearances in LaPorte Circuit Court.
