NASCAR driver Ryan Blaney had a pretty good showing at Kansas Speedway in two different series last weekend and he’s going for the double again this weekend.

Blaney raced in his first Sprint Cup Series race on Saturday night where he had a strong finish in the No. 12 SKF Ford for Team Penske in the Sprint Cup Series. He was honored earlier in the week in celebration of his first win 20 years ago and got his 89th career win Saturday night. With an interested pit strategy and hard racing, Jeff Gordon was able to snag the win in the 5-Hour Energy 400 at Kansas Speedway after getting in front of Kevin Harvick following a final round of pit stops.

Gordon had slipped back in the race after running in the top 10 for most of the race but got caught in the pack when a caution came out after a round of green flag pit stops. He was stagnant in the running order for a portion of the race but started battling back. During the last round of green flag pit stops, Gordon was able to pit a lap early of Harvick and his team had a better pit stop which put him in the lead. Harvick had a good run on Gordon in the last few laps but couldn’t capitalize for the win.

Kyle Busch was able to hang on to win a caution-plagued SFP 250 at Kansas Speedway Friday night.

He started on the pole and a pole winner hadn’t won a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) since 2012, but it was done Friday night after Busch battled to win the race.

Busch started third on the final restart and raced Crafton hard as he moved through the field and Crafton held his ground. Lapped traffic played into Busch’s hand as he was able to get to the second position with 26 laps to go in the race. He would take the lead with 21 laps to go and he would grab the win.
