The Knox Community School Board held a public hearing Monday night to hear comments on the new superintendent’s proposed contract.
According to Interim School Superintendent Jim Dermody, one patron asked about a rollover clause for the contract. Otherwise, Dermody said there were no other public comments.
A contract with The Crossing will allow Knox students a second chance at getting an educational experience at their pace.
The Crossing offers an alternative way of educating students who may not thrive in a traditional classroom setting.
The first round of interviews was scheduled this week in the search for a new Knox Community School Superintendent. Those interviews were conducted in executive session meetings.
The Knox School Board has finalized arrangements for next month’s summer school classes. On Monday, board members approved a list of 19 summer school teachers and aides. However, Interim Superintendent Jim Dermody explained that each middle and high school class will only be offered if at least 15 students sign up, due to Indiana Department of Education funding guidelines. State tuition money is paid to the corporation where the child is enrolled on the two student count days.
