From the North Judson Police Department:

Incidents:
03/05/12 North Judson Police and the Starke County Sheriff’s Department teamed up to track down a semi tractor and trailer that cut through the Point Drive Inn parking lot, striking and destroying a Centurylink telephone booth and phone box. Between local witnesses and a good Samaritan that followed the semi, Starke County Sheriff’s Deputy, Adam Gray, conducted a traffic stop on the semi near 400 South and US # 35. North Judson Police did the property damage report.

03/05/12 An early morning slight snow accumulation resulted in two property damage accidents in North Judson. North Judson Police Chief Doug Vessely witnessed and investigated an accident at the intersection of Talmer and Schricker at 6:52 a.m. A Ram 2500 pickup truck was coming down the hill on Talmer and unable to stop, striking another vehicle which was stopped at the intersection, waiting to continue through the intersection. The packed snow and ice contributed to the accident. Damages were set at over $5,000. Then around 7:40 a.m. another fender bender occurred at the intersection of George Street and Talmer Avenue. A vehicle was stopped on Talmer waiting to turn left onto George Street when it was rear-ended by a Ford Ranger pickup truck. The driver of the truck stated he could not stop in time due to the snow and ice on the roadway. Damages were set at over $2,500.

03/04/12 A resident in the 6100 Block of South Oakwood reported to North Judson Police that a four-door white vehicle hit and damaged their fence. The vehicle fled the scene. North Judson Chief Deputy Joe Budner continues the investigation.

03/01/12 U-lock storage in the 700 Block of Talmer Avenue reported to North Judson Police that three units had the pad locks removed from the doors. As of this time, no items have been reported missing. The owners were notified to check the units and advise police if anything was taken.

02/29/12 An improperly latched pickup truck door swung open in the wind while parked in the North Judson–San Pierre High School parking lot causing damage to the vehicle parked next to it. North Judson Police made a written report.

02/28/12 A Domestic Dispute was covered by North Judson Police in the 400 Block of Lane Street. The parties were separated for the evening.

02/27/12 North Judson Police responded to the 300 Block of Franklin Street in reference to a disturbance late Monday night and noticed an injured female subject in the street. After an investigation, North Judson Police Chief Doug Vessely and Officer Frank Thomas with assistance from the Starke County Sheriff’s Department Officers Upsall and Gray, arrested Bradley A. White for two counts of Battery. Police noticed some possible stolen items in the home and obtained a search warrant, which was served Tuesday morning. As a result of the search warrant, additional charges of Theft and possession of Stolen Property charges were added to White.

02/27/12 Bradley A. White, 23, 304 B Franklin Street, North Judson, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Battery (two counts), Strangulation, Theft and Possession of Stolen Property.

Incidents:
03/04/12 At approximately 12:30a.m., the Hamlet Town Marshal was awoken to someone beating on his door and yelling loudly. When Marshal Lonigro answered his door, he found suspect, Justin Boyle, bleeding from his hand and cursing very loudly because he was upset he could not get an officer to his house for a theft report. Justin was arrested on preliminary charges of Disorderly Conduct, Trespassing and Public intoxication.

03/03/12 Kelly Arbuckle, of Hamlet, reported harassment.

03/03/12 A resident at 316 Jefferson reported his neighbor was stealing his electric.

02/28/12 A Hamlet police officer was called to 500 Starke Street for a loud music complaint.

02/27/12 Officers were called to the corner of Hamlet & Pearl Streets for a fight in progress. Officers arrived and parties were separated and left the scene.

Incidents:
03/04/12 Pulaski County police found a pickup in a field. Police learned from the driver that he slid off the road when he hit a patch of ice on the road in Franklin Township. The officer advised the driver that he would need to see him before he can retrieve the vehicle.

03/04/12 A Star City resident called police crying stating that her house and yard were toilet papered the night before. Someone had gotten into her car and took $85 out of her wallet that was in her purse.

03/04/12 Police were contacted by a victim of a battery who was in the ER. He told police that a person hit him over the head with a shovel. The parents of the victim called police later to report several life threatening phone calls.

03/01/12 The Rochester Walmart called Pulaski County Police to report prescription fraud. Two subjects are calling in refills for narcotics that are in question.

03/01/12 A Medaryvile resident reported the theft of a license plate.

03/01/12 A Winamac resident called police to report the theft of a license plate.

03/01/12 A Franklin Township resident called police to report damage to her mailbox. Someone had run into it with his vehicle.

02/29/12 A Franklin Township resident told police that someone dumped a bunch of bags of garbage in their field. Paperwork was found with a person’s name on it.

02/29/12 An employee at a business reported a hit-and-run accident in the Winamac area.

02/28/12 A Winamac resident called police to report $30,000 worth of C-13 carbite taken from the tool foundry in Winamac. A description of the suspects was given to police.

02/28/12 A Winamac resident requested an officer to file a report for a theft from his storage unit.

02/28/12 A resident in Star City reported the theft of a license plate.

02/27/12 A Winamac resident called to report a stolen license plate.

02/27/12 A Francesville resident called police to investigate a kicked-in garage door.

03/01/12 Ronald Webb of North Judson was given a no trespass warning after an alleged incident with his sister.

02/29/12 Brent Clemons reported items were stolen from his mother’s vehicle including clothes, personal hygiene items, a 13” color flat screen TV, and a jewelry box. The car’s stereo was also stolen.

03/01/12 Steven Reinholt, 31, 2687 S. 800 E., Knox, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant for Driving While Suspended-Prior (x2).

Accidents:
02/26/12 Marie Helzer of Wheatfield told police that she was northbound on U.S. 35 approaching the intersection with Culver Road and she proceeded through the intersection due to her traffic signal being green. She said a vehicle traveling westbound on Culver Road in her lane of travel and she could not avoid a collision. The driver of the second vehicle, driven by Karen Baker of Knox, told police that she proceeded through the intersection because she had the green light and she was struck on the driver’s side door by Helzer. Witnesses told police that Baker had the right of way as Helzer had a red light. Both drivers were injured and taken to IU Health Starke Hospital for treatment.

03/02/12 A mailbox and pole were reported stolen in the 10800 block of Kanney Avenue in Walkerton.

03/02/12 A resident of the 1500 block of West 250 South in Knox told police that she received a call from a male subject with a foreign accent telling her to get on her computer and follow his instructions to fix computer problems.

03/01/12 A resident of the 4500 block of South 750 West in North Judson told police that someone stolen his garbage can.

03/01/12 Max Milo told police that a male subject pointed a gun at him in the 2700 block of South U.S. 35 in Knox.

02/29/12 Kelly Roseman of North Judson told police that an unauthorized check was cashed from his checking account.

02/29/12 Larry Garrison of North Judson advised that he had received a form in the mail from the BMV informing him that his wife’s driver’s license needed renewed and gave him a website to go to. He was charged $24, and later found out that it was a scam and not affiliated with the BMV.

02/28/12 A caller informed police that a semi “exploded” on U.S. 421 in front of Dooley’s Bar and Grill in San Pierre.

02/27/12 A resident of the 1800 block of South Fernwood Drive in Knox reported an unknown subject was in her home.

02/27/12 Jayne Ritenour told police that her son, James Ritenour, attacked her with a knife.

02/27/12 Extra patrol was requested in the 5200 block of East Old U.S. 30 in response to “window peekers” in the area.

02/26/12 Adela Napier of North Judson told police that someone stole several construction tools from her garage.

02/26/12 Larry Troike reported a break-in at a residence in the 7100 block of South Range Road in Knox.

02/26/12 A bicycle was reported stolen in the 5700 block of South 250 West in Knox.
