Doug Vessely
North Judson Town Marshal Doug Vessely

From the North Judson Police Department:

Incidents:
03/03/14  A North Judson resident reported to police that a cash advance company was being used over the internet that turned into a scam. The company requested funds up front in order to process the claim. At one point, company officials threatened action from the IRS.

Police officers remind you to never to pay money upfront for any type of services unless you know with what company you are dealing.

“A good indicator that the company is fraudulent or the deal is a scam is when they request you to pay with a instant money gram, Western Union, or Green Dot-type of payment,” said North Judson Police Chief Doug Vessely stated. “These funds are sent instantly and are not traceable”

Be careful because these scams continue to occur everyday in the area. Callers are resorting to high pressure, threatening voice statements, and even threatening to come to your home. You are urged to never send money.
