Incidents:
10/04/13 North Judson Police responded to a complaint of three loose dogs running in the area of Weninger and Wilson Streets. The dogs were returned to their owner and an North Judson ordinance citation was issued for not having dogs tags.

10/04/13 Police investigated a custody dispute in the 300 Block of Franklin Street.

10/04/13 North Judson Police were notified of a property damage accident on the curve near Main and Oakwood Streets. A male juvenile driver went around the curve heading north on Oakwood at a speed too fast for conditions and fishtailed, ultimately sliding off the roadway. No major damage was sustained. North Judson Police Chief Doug Vessely estimated damages at under $200 and gave the driver a verbal warning.

10/03/13 The North Judson-San Pierre High School requested the presence of police due to the activity of a student.

10/03/13 A protection order violation was reported to the North Judson Police Department in the 100 Block of Arlington Avenue. A complete report with charges was provided to the Starke County Prosecutor. Three additional reports were made after the original report. All were sent for review by the Starke County Prosecutor for invasion of privacy charges.

10/02/13 A report of several mailboxes being damaged on State Road 39 south of Leslie Street was made to the North Judson Police Department. Extra patrols were requested.

10/02/13 The Town of North Judson reported an iron grate missing.

Incidents:
10/07/13 A Winamac officer was notified of a possible fraud case.

10/07/13 A caller told police that a cross bow and knives were stolen from his home. The items were later retrieved.

10/07/13 A property damage accident between an SUV and a camper was reported.

10/07/13 A Medaryville gas station employee reported a gas drive-off.

10/07/13 A caller reported seeing a suspicious person at an abandoned trailer.

10/05/13 A Winamac resident reported evidence of trespassing on his property. The DNR was contacted as hunting items were found.

10/05/13 Police were called to several car vs. deer accidents throughout the week.

10/04/13 A worker at a construction site told police that some unknown person broke into a work trailer at the site.

10/04/13 An employee at a gas station said a customer pumped gas and has no money to pay for it.

10/04/13 Deputies were called to investigate a domestic dispute.

10/04/13 A theft of gas occurred at a Winamac gas station but the suspect returned to pay for the gas.

10/04/13 Reckless driving complaints of a four wheeler and dirt bike were called into the sheriff’s department.

10/04/13 Police responded to an injury accident on 300 W. in Winamac.

10/03/13 A business owner reported an attempted theft of gloves.

10/03/13 A caller complained that her neighbor’s dogs were incessantly barking.

10/03/13 Two trespassers in a white pickup with a trailer were on a property to pick up wood and the caller was unsure of permission status. The trespassers were asked to leave.

10/01/13 Local law enforcement were called to Aren’s Field to locate a suspicious person allegedly shining green lasers into the cockpit of a plane flying over the airfield. South Bend air traffic control made the report to dispatchers.

Arrests:
10/06/13 Billy Neeley, 49, of Winamac, IN, arrested on an active warrant and a preliminary charge of Disorderly Conduct.

10/02/13 Tiffany Witham, 31, of Winamac, IN, arrested on an active warrant.

10/02/13 Allen Shorter, 28, of Winamac, IN, arrested on an out-of-county warrant.

Incidents:

10/01/13 – A resident of the 8600 block of East Long Lane Drive in Knox reported his 2005 Grey Nissan had been stolen.

10/01/13 – A resident of the 4400 block of South State Road 39 in North Judson told police that someone had abandoned a wrecked vehicle on his property.

10/01/13 – A car was reportedly vandalized in the 5600 block of East 650 South near Bass Lake.

10/01/13 – A resident of the 8300 block of South Ridge Road in Monterey told police he woke up and found male suspects in his house.

10/02/13 – A theft was reported in the 1500 block of West 450 South.

10/03/13 – A caller from the 9600 block of East State Road 8 in Knox told police that he had found a meth lab in the woods nearby.

10/03/13 – A resident of the 11000 block of East Nicole Drive in Knox reported his daughter had taken unauthorized control of his vehicle and refused to return it.

10/05/13 – A resident of the 8400 block of U.S. 35 in Monterey reported someone had broken into his residence.

10/05/13 – Cathy Rogers-Howard of Monterey reported someone had made unauthorized, fraudulent charges through her bank.

10/05/13 – A resident of the 6300 block of South State Road 10 in Knox reported a theft from his residence.

10/06/13 – Jamie Brumley of Plymouth reported someone had stolen his cell phone and it was traced to a residence in Starke County.

10/06/13 – A battery incident was reported at the Holloway Motel in Hamlet.

10/06/13 – A male subject reported vandalized the window at the Koontz Lake Supermarket.

Arrests:

10/03/13 – John W. Klacza, 37 of Winfield, was arrested on charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.

10/04/13 – Leslie H. Marcum, 29 of Walkerton, was arrested following a traffic stop on South Street near Koontz Lake.
