08/17/13 A break-in was investigated at the USA Cafe.

08/15/13 Officers responded to a report of a protection order violation.

08/14/13 Mary Morrow, 36, 0995 N. 200 E., Knox, IN, was cited for Driving While Suspended-Prior.

08/13/13 William Clemons, 32, 202 EW. Locust Dr., Knox, IN, cited for Driving While Suspended-Prior.

08/13/13 A complaint of trespassing and property damage was made to police.

08/11/13 A hit and run accident was investigated. No injuries were reported.

Arrests:
08/17/13 Ryan Reyes, 18, 2440 N. 700 E., Grovertown, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Conversion and Possession of Marijuana.

08/16/13 Christopher McCurdy, 46, 504 E. Culver Rd., Knox, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Battery, Strangulation and Possession of Marijuana.

Incidents:
08/19/13 An impaired driver complaint was called in. Police reportedly found drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and detained the suspect.

08/19/13 Police in Francesville were called to a domestic complaint.

08/19/13 A Winamac woman told police that both sets of her keys were found in her mailbox.

08/19/13 Winamac police were notified that a woman was sitting on the curb near the Emergency Room parking spaces at Pulaski Memorial Hospital and someone ran over her feet.

08/19/13 The Medaryville Police officer was flagged down as a citizen found a bag with marijuana in it at the cemetery.

08/19/13 Police were notified that a person was battered and medication was stolen from the victim.

08/18/13 Francesville police, Winamac EMS, Winamac Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies responded to a motorcycle crash. One man was injured.

08/18/13 A man called police and reported his girlfriend hit a dog and the vehicle sustained a good amount of damage.

08/17/13 A Winamac man told police that someone damaged his plants.

08/17/13 A foreclosure company notified police about a break-in at a residence in Denham.

08/17/13 Winamac police were called to investigate a domestic battery incident.

08/16/13 The theft of gas was called into the sheriff’s department. The driver was contacted and returned to pay for the gas.

08/16/13 A Monterey resident reported his vehicle stolen. Police later found the vehicle in a ditch.

08/16/13 A Star City resident reported a break-in at her cabin and a lot of damage was done.

08/15/13 A Medaryville woman was threatened by a neighbor.

08/15/13 A Francesville woman reported the theft of three rings.

08/14/13 A Star City resident called police to report an overnight theft of fuel hoses and other items.

08/14/13 A Medaryville resident reported that some unknown person(s) flattened all of the complainant’s vehicle’s tires.

08/14/13 The Winamac Police Department was notified of the theft of three bags of feed from the back of a pickup while it was parked at a restaurant.

Arrests:
08/20/13 Robert Manns, 38, of North Judson, IN, arrested on a probation violation.

08/19/13 Karen Howard, 44, of Knox, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Precursors with Intent to Manufacture, Possession of a Syringe, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia.

08/17/13 Nicholas Chambers, 25, of Rochester, IN, arrested on Failure to Appear for Fact Finding. Stay was lifted on contempt.

08/17/14 Dustin Kanschat, 33, of Kewanna, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Theft.

08/15/13 Tiffany Witham, 31, of Delong, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Non-Payment of Child Support.

Incidents:
08/17/13 North Judson police responded to a juvenile driving a vehicle in the area of Magnolia Street and Garfield Ave. The officer checked the area and was not able to locate the vehicle.

08/16/13 A resident reported that her son was being harassed by another juvenile. The officer spoke with the parent of the accused and she stated that she would correct the problem.

08/16/13 A resident in the 4000 block of Roberts Lane reported that an unwanted guest was asked to be removed from the residence. The male subject left without incident.

08/15/13 Police responded to a reckless driving complaint on Campbell Drive by an employee at the bus garage. A male subject in a pick-up was doing donuts in the gravel as students were walking home from school. The officer checked the area and was unable to locate the vehicle.

08/15/13 North Judson Police responded to a possible intoxicated driver complaint on Talmer Ave. The vehicle was pulled over and the driver was not intoxicated, but was tired. The driver was almost home and was allowed to continue home.

08/15/13 Police responded to a property damage accident just west of Bau’s Towing on State Road 10. The driver of the vehicle advised the officer that they struck a deer. There was no damage to the vehicle and the deer was dead.

08/14/13 North Judson Police Chief Doug Vessely responded to an accident with injuries at the intersection of W. Talmer Ave. and George Street. The driver of the vehicle that was rear-ended was transported to I.U. Health Starke Hospital with a complaint of back pain. Chief Vessely estimated the damage over $1,000. Starke County EMS and the North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.

08/14/13 A resident reported to North Judson police that a young male was driving recklessly on a moped in the area of Arlington Ave. The officer checked the area and was unable to locate the male subject.

08/14/13 Police responded to a barking dog complaint in the 300 block of N. George Street. When the officer arrived, he did not hear any dog barking.

08/13/13 A resident in the 4700 block of W. Talmer Ave. reported that a male subject that she did not know rang her doorbell early in the morning. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the male subject.

08/13/13 North Judson Chief Deputy Joe Budner assisted the Starke County Sheriff’s Department in a stand-off situation in Born’s Trailer Park. The suspect, Shannon Watts, was taken into custody.

08/12/13 The North Judson Police Department responded to several calls for lines and poles down after heavy rain and storms moved through the area.
