Services for Andy Howes to be Decided at the End of the Year

We have an update on our Andy Howes story. Andy’s brother, Rob, has returned to India where he is employed as an Aeronautical Engineer. He will not return until Christmas of 2011 so no decision on services or burial site will be made until then. It’s felt the services will be held in 2012.

As earlier reported Andy’s great-nephew, Michael, is serving in Afghanistan and will accompany the remains home from Hawaii.

A Facebook site has been established, and all of Andy’s friends are urged to visit it and leave remembrances and comments. On the site now is a written copy of the interview done with Andy’s cousin, Peggy Arquette, and friend, Gloria Ballard, on WSBT-TV. The Facebook site is entitled “In Memory of George Andrews ‘Andy’ Howes”.

Andy’s remains were recently positively identified through DNA given by his brother and late sister Valerie. He went down in a helicopter crash in Vietnam in 1970.
