Incidents:
03/31/13 A fire was reported at a home on 550 N. in Winamac. Just as the fire department was en route, the homeowner told dispatch that the fire wasn’t big and it was already extinguished.

03/31/13 A Star City resident notified police of a theft incident.

03/31/13 The Star City Fire Department was called to a fire at a property on 100 W. The Winamac Fire Department was also called to the scene.

03/30/13 A Winamac resident reported a break-in at a residence on 50 W.

03/30/13 A break-in was reported at a home in Winamac.

03/29/13 A theft incident was called in by a resident on Indiana Hill Road in Winamac.

03/29/13 The Medaryville Fire Department was called to a fire on 1300 W.

03/28/13 Officers were called out to investigate battery incident.

03/28/13 A Winamac resident reported a theft incident.

03/27/13 Several animal complaints were called into the Justice Center.

03/26/13 Police were notified of a possible battery incident.

03/26/13 A person called the dispatch center and asked for a police officer to come to their place of business. A truck and trailer drove by and a tire was lost. That tire went through the glass door.

04/01/13 Jacqueline Sizemore, 39, of Demotte, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of False Informing.

Incidents:
03/31/13 – A property damage accident occurred around 12:20 p.m. at the intersection of Main and Luken Streets in North Judson. A 2000 Dodge Caravan, driven by Susan Robbins of Medaryville, was stopped on Luken Street and observed another vehicle traveling west on Main Street. Robbins thought it was a four-way stop and pulled into the path of the vehicle, driven by Gene Godsey, of North Judson. North Judson Police Chief Deputy Joe Budner investigated and set damages at over $3,000. No injuries were reported.

03/30/13 Police responded to a dispute call in the 600 block of West Talmer Avenue. Both parties involved were advised that it was a civil matter.

03/29/13 Police responded to a drunk driving complaint. North Judson Officer Kelly Fisher located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. After a brief investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Michael R. Meiss, 49, of 203 High Street in North Judson, was arrested for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.

03/27/13 North Judson Officer Todd Keen conducted a traffic stop around 12:48 p.m. for a license plate light violation. The driver, Jacquelin K. Knapp of LaCrosse, was ticketed for driving while suspended.

03/27/13 North Judson Officer Darren Conley clocked a vehicle traveling 75 mph in a 55 mph zone. Officer Conley turned around in order to follow the vehicle. The vehicle started to speed up and tried to outrun Officer Conley. The vehicle traveled through a yard and around a building on the west side of State Road 39. The vehicle then made it back on the roadway. The vehicle then pulled into a driveway on the east side of State Road 39. Officer Conley pulled in behind the vehicle and heard branches breaking in a nearby wooded area. After a brief search of the area, the driver was not located. Later in the evening, the driver of the vehicle, Brian K. Gates Jr. 27, of South Bend, tried to report the vehicle stolen. Gates was then arrested for Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, Resisting Law Enforcement on Foot, Criminal Mischief, False Reporting, Reckless Driving, and Auto Theft-Unauthorized Control. He was also issued three state citations. The Starke County Sheriffs Department and Department of Natural Resources assisted with this incident and search.

03/25/13 Police responded to an ordinance violation in the 300 block of Main Street. The resident was issued two ordinance citations for no animal tags. The resident and the property owner were also given an official 30-day notice in reference to a nuisance violation.

03/29/13 Michael R. Meiss, 49, 203 High Street, North Judson, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.

03/27/13 Brian K. Gates, Jr., 27, of South Bend, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Resisting Law Enforcement by vehicle and on foot, Criminal Mischief, False Reporting, Reckless Driving and Auto Theft-Unauthorized Control.

Incidents

03/24/13 – A caller from the 7100 block of East 50 South in Knox told police that a vehicle drove through his yard and damaged his property.

03/24/13 – A resident of the 3000 block of West 625 South in North Judson reported someone had been running through his fence and breaking it at night.

03/24/13 – Sylvester Witkowski of Knox told police someone had slashed his tires.

03/24/13 – A man was reportedly battered at the Time Out Pub near Koontz Lake.

03/25/13 – A woman from the 3900 block of West Third Street in North Judson reported someone had fraudulently used her bank card.

03/25/13 – A resident of the 1700 block of South 350 East in Knox told police she had been harassed by a male subject.

03/26/13 – A harassment incident was reported in the 900 block of North State Road 23 in Knox.

03/26/13 – Danny Traylor of Knox told police that someone had hacked his computer and stole financial records.

03/26/13 – A laptop was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of West Toto Road in North Judson.

03/27/13 – A theft was reported at a foreclosed home in the 11500 block of State Road 8 in Knox.

03/27/13 – A man told police he found bags possibly containing a discarded meth lab near the intersection of county roads 100 West and 400 South in North Judson.

03/29/13 – A driver for Allied Waste reportedly found a possible meth lab along the road near the intersection of county roads 200 East and 50 South in Knox.

03/30/13 – A caller told police that people were possibly manufacturing methamphetamine in the dunes area near Koontz Lake.

03/30/13 – A resident of the 8700 block of South Elm Avenue in Monterey told police that his motor home was vandalized.

Arrests

03/26/13 – Matthew Douglas Schutz, 27 of Knox and Shannon May Rupert, 33 of Knox were arrested on charges of Batttery following an incident in the 4400 block of Dawn Drive in North Judson.

03/29/13 – David W. Campbell, 45, was arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Incidents:
04/01/13 Park Superintendent George Byer reported vandalism in Wythogan Park. Vandals had spray painted graffiti on the new curly slide and a brick building inside the park.

03/30/13 Peggy Awald told officers that a vehicle sideswiped her car while it was parked at Five Star.

03/29/13 Bud McLaughlin reported wall damage to the first and second wash bays at the Knox Superwash.

03/27/13 Homer Salyer reported damage to his vehicle. Police believe that it was hit by a passing car and did not report the damage.

03/25/13 Crystal Martinez reported the theft of her purse and criminal activity on her credit card.

03/19/13 Marcella McCormick reported a broken window on the front porch to a residence.

03/19/13 Jackie Parker reported the theft of a lawn ornament.

04/04/13 Elsadig Arabi, 42, of Fort Wayne, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Failure to Stop after an Accident Causing Property Damage.

03/31/13 Mason Paxson, 54, 732 W. 350 N., LaPorte, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.

03/30/13 Angela Clemons, 30, 301 S. Portland St., Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a Controlled Substance.

03/29/13 Dominic Sheets, 22, 19949 Upas Rd., Culver, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Marshall County.

03/28/13 Milan Rasic, 68, arrested on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated-Refusal.

03/28/13 Lavotis French, 47, 305 W. Bender St., Knox, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance and Possession of a Legend Drug.
