Monthly Reports from Knox City Police, North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Dept.

North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Department Fire Chief, Joe Leszek, reports that the department only had five total fire runs last month. 3 were for medical assistance and 2 were for vehicle accidents. One of those calls came from the town of North Judson, three came from Wayne Township and one came from Rich Grove Township. There were a total of 12,000 gallons of water used in September.

Knox City Police Chief, Clint Norem, says that they responded to a total of 455 calls last month. They assisted the Starke County Police Department twice. Last month there were a total of seven Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated arrests, four Public Intoxication arrests, three cases of minor consumption, five juvenile arrests, 20 traffic charges were filed against 14 people, 60 criminal arrest charges were filed on 36 people, and two ordinance violation charges were filed. The officers also had 7 battery arrests, two warrant arrests, and 11 drug arrests.
