Starke County Airport to Host Breakfast Fly-In Sunday

After being idle for the last four years, the Breakfast Fly-In and Drive-In event will once again be hosted at the Starke County Airport. Airport Manager Pam Beharry said she was approached by the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 104 of Valparaiso who said they were willing to come out and give the event a try again this year.

Chapter President Rick Rozhon said the event will feature a number of fly-ins, weather permitting, and they’re hoping to see some experimental aircrafts, home-built planes, and other airplanes as well. He said all proceeds from the event will go to fund local aviation events, and it if works out, he said the chapter would love to return to the airport in the future.

The event features an all-you-can eat pancake and sausage breakfast for a suggested donation of $5 per person. Children 5 and under eat for free.

Rozhon said pilots from Michigan, Illinois, and other nearby states will fly in to enjoy the breakfast and chat with their fellow aviators. For more information, visit www.eaa104.org.

The fly-in will take place on Sunday, June 2 from 7 a.m. to noon CT.
