The Pulaski County Commissioners approved two resolutions during their meeting this week.

The board of commissioners revised the minimum spending limit for several departments and a resolution was approved reflecting those changes. The prosecutor’s office, Pulaski Superior Court, Pulaski Circuit Court, maintenance department, health department, sheriff’s department, highway department, county home, CDC office, EMA, and EMS will now have a spending minimum of $2,500. The recycling center has a minimum of $1,000. All other departments are at $500.

If any purchase is more than the minimum listed, that request must be forwarded to the commissioners and approved in a public meeting.

That resolution goes into effect on July 1.

The other resolution approved involved emergency meetings. A notice will be given to the news media and the public per Indiana code if there is an emergency involving an actual or threatened injury to a person or property, threatened disruption of governmental activity.

The commissioners are to convene a meeting in the commissioner’s room in the event of an emergency meeting. If the members cannot meet in person, a telephonic meeting may be held. If one or two commissioners cannot attend a meeting, they may call into the commissioners room and be placed on speaker phone to participate in the meeting. The public is welcome to attend any emergency meeting.

This resolution goes into effect immediately.
