Dave Sharpe

John Glenn football has a new head coach. The hiring of Dave Sharpe to replace coach Justin Bogunia, who resigned at the end of last season, was approved by the John Glenn school board earlier this week. Sharpe (the son of coaching legend Bill Sharpe), played his high school football career as an offensive lineman at Jimtown high school where he was a part of two state championships. After graduating from Purdue University, Sharpe returned to Jimtown where he was an assistant coach for eight years. Coach Sharpe has been a part of three state championship football teams as both a coach and a player. Congratulations and welcome to Dave Sharpe, the new head football coach of the John Glenn Falcons!

The Oregon-Davis Lady Bobcats have won their second consecutive sectional championship and their sixth in the last seven years. After graduating one senior off of last year’s 21-5 team, expectations were high for the Lady Cats, and they did not disappoint! O-D rolled through their own sectional defeating Westville in the first game 83-18. They then went on to defeat Argos 75-42 before defeating Triton for the third time this season 76-38. Oregon-Davis (21-3) will be taking on Morgan Township (14-10) in the first game of the Caston regional this Saturday.

West Central Wins Third Consecutive Championship

Published: February 15th, 2013

The West Central Lady Trojans have won their third straight sectional championship! After graduating five seniors from last year’s team, including their top three scorers, and playing under new head coach Brad Odom, very few believed the Trojans could pull off another championship run. The Lady Trojans believed and have won 8 of their last 9 games.

The Championship run began with a 37-17 win over Pioneer in the first round of the North White sectional. The Trojans then went on to defeat Tri-County 39-19 in the semifinals before defeating Caston in the championship game 40-29. West Central (14-9) will be taking on #1 ranked Fort Wayne Canterbury (21-3) in the second game of the Caston regional on Saturday.
