Starke County Unemployment Rate Hits 16-Year Low

  
 

Starke County’s October unemployment rate hit a 16-year low, according to the latest jobs report from the state.

The jobless rate of 4.4 percent for October of 2016 is on par with the state average and half a percentage point better than the nation. Starke County last saw a figure that low in November of 2000, when unemployment his 4.3 percent.

Starke County posted a September jobless rate of 4.9 percent.

The October unemployment rates in Pulaski and Marshall Counties are 3.7 and 3.3 percent respectively. LaPorte County tied the state average at 4.9 percent.
