Psi Iota Xi Holds Craft and Vendor Show to Benefit Scholarship Funds

Get some of your holiday shopping done while increasing educational opportunities for Starke County students. Psi Iota Xi Sorority of Knox is hosting its annual Winter Wonderful craft and vendor show tomorrow.

Chapter President Tammy Fletcher says the event helps raise funds for some of the sorority’s programs. “Most of it will go to scholarships for the high school students in our county,” she says. “That includes any Starke County kids that go to Culver or Culver Military Academy, Oregon-Davis, Knox, North Judson, including any home-schooled high schoolers. We also support the preschool program through the Starke County Community Foundation.” She says that last year, Psi Iota Xi awarded nine $400 scholarships to high school students around Starke County.

Tomorrow’s Winter Wonderful event will feature about 25 vendors, according to Fletcher. “We have many regular vendors plus a lot of just crafters,” she says. “So if you’re looking for Christmas gifts or Thanksgiving décor, it will be there. We also have food. There’s a lady that’s bringing honey. I think there’s homemade candy. And then our sorority is selling cheese balls and hand-held pies.” Other vendors will be selling popcorn, children’s books, and wood crafts. Lunch will also be available.

The Winter Wonderful craft and vendor show takes place tomorrow from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Central at the Washington Township Community Building at 20 N. State Road 23, east of Knox.
