N.J.-S.P. Strategic Plan Group Sets Goals

BluejayThe North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation’s strategic planning group has come up with three main goals. Superintendent Dr. Annette Zupin told the school board this week they will serve as the foundation for the group’s effort to market the corporation. The group’s first goal is to improve school and community relations. For instance, Zupin says students can find a way to be involved in the upcoming North Judson town Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Another suggestion was to extend next fall’s homecoming celebration to include the entire community.

The second goal is to create more opportunities for interaction between students at the elementary and the junior/senior high schools. Zupin says the high school athletic teams have already visited the elementary school. A family fun night is in the works, as are some other programs, and the committee, faculty and staff are looking for more ways to involve the elementary school students with the upperclassmen.

The final major goal is to develop a promotion plan for the corporation. Zupin says the committee is seeking advice from a marketing expert to do this. Plans call for phase one to run from January to the end of the school year. The second phase will pick up with the start of the 2017-18 academic year.
