Some student-athletes at Winamac High School are working together to promote the school’s various sports teams, as well as build their own leadership skills.

Eastern Pulaski Superintendent Dan Foster says the school board got an update last week from senior Claire Collins, the president of Winamac High School’s Athletic Leadership Council. “It’s made up of representatives from all of the athletic groups,” Foster explains, “and they’re trying to instill sportsmanship and leadership across the boundaries of ‘this sport gets a lot of people to follow it and this sport doesn’t get much.’ So they’re trying to build that spirit a little bit, as well as actual leadership qualities and having good leaders in our organizations.”

Also during last week’s meeting, the Eastern Pulaski School Board voted to appoint Richard Mynark to the Pulaski County Public Library Board and corporation treasurer Angie Anspach as its designee for small claims court.
