Federal, state and local law enforcement officials fanned out across LaPorte County early Wednesday morning in a warrant sweep dubbed “Operation Narcotic Knockdown” and made 29 arrests.
Members of the Fugitive Apprehension Street Team, F.A.S.T. for short, were joined by the Michigan City Police Department Street Crimes Unit, Detective Bureau and Patrol Division, Indiana State Police, United States Marshals Service, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, Drug Enforcement Administration, La Porte County Sheriff’s Department, Long Beach Police Department, Indiana Department of Corrections and Indiana Parole Enforcement, as they went to various locations in and around the Michigan City area where illegal narcotic sales had reportedly occurred.
Officials note several of the people arrested had outstanding warrants for non-narcotics related crimes.
The F.A.S.T., which is a combined unit of La Porte County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan City Police Department and United States Marshals Service personnel, encourage citizens to report the locations of wanted subjects by calling the crime tip hotline at 219-873-1488.
The below list contains the names and charges of those arrested during Operation Narcotic Knockdown, and these individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
