Pair Busted for Alleged Links to Multiple Armed Robberies

LaPorte Police have arrested a pair of suspect on armed robbery charges, but they may have also captured the individuals wanted in at least three other incidents.

Officers were called to Next Door Foods in the 10-thousand block of North U.S. 12 close to the Michigan state line on Thursday. Information was learned that the suspect was a black male who escaped the scene in a white van being driven by a white female.

An employee at the store was struck in the head with a handgun during the alleged incident and was treated for injuries. The suspect vehicle was followed into Michigan by a witness, providing a partial license plate number.

Michigan authorities were able to spot the van and followed it back south into Indiana. When the vehicle stopped just east of the U.S. 31 bypass, police arrested the suspects.

25-year-old Krista Caldwell and 32-year-old David Moss were transported to the South Bend Police department for interviews. An investigation revealed that they may allegedly be involved with cases throughout the South Bend area.

A search warrant was executed at an address linked to the suspects where a firearm was found that police believe may have been used in the robberies.

Moss is facing Felony charges of Armed Robbery. Prosecutors are researching what to charge Caldwell with while the investigation is ongoing.
