Eastern Pulaski School Board Discusses Exterior Lighting Upgrades

The Eastern Pulaski School Board wants more information before proceeding with an upgrade to the exterior lights on the campus. Superintendent Dan Foster says the existing lights on the buildings are older and not especially energy efficient. They’re also set on timers, which need to be reset frequently as the days get shorter.

Additionally, Foster says they have several old wooden poles with security lights on them. He says the board also discussed at least getting costs for replacing them with more decorative poles and lights. Foster concedes that might not be financially feasible but says the board wants to look into it before making a decision. He says they’d like to replace all of the exterior lighting at once, if possible, with automatic dusk to dawn lights.

Foster says the school board will revisit the matter when they have more information.
