‘Farmer Selfie’ Looks to Promote Awareness, Donations

The Indiana Family of Farmers is looking for a way to engage State Fairgoers on social media, and it’s for a good cause.

According to a press release, the group – which was formed in 2009 to raise awareness that Indiana farmers produce many of the foods eaten by Americans everyday – is target individuals at the fair to take what’s called a “Farmer Selfie.”

Those at the fair can participate by taking a “selfie” with an actual farmer at the fair or by taking a photo with one of the life-size posters of farmers located near the commodity tents.

By posting the “selfie” to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the hashtag #FarmerSelfie, the Indiana Family of Farmers will make a donation Feeding Indiana’s Hungry.

The Indiana State Fair runs through August 21st.
