Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a weekend drowning at Hudson Lake in LaPorte County. Emergency responders received reports shortly after 7:00 Sunday morning that someone had fallen out of a boat near the 8100 block of East Lakeshore Drive, according to the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department.

A New Carlisle police officer using a kayak found the victim about an hour later roughly 100 feet from shore. The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Dive Team then recovered the victim in about eight feet of water.

The identity of the victim has not been released, pending the notification of family members.
