One Injured in House Explosion, Cause Under Investigation

 
 

Authorities in Pulaski County are investigating a house explosion that seriously injured a Winamac man. It happened around 6 p.m. Monday in the 1700 block of County Road 225 North, in the VanMeter Park area. Bobby Conley, 47, was airlifted to Chicago, according to officials with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office. He was in the house at the time of the explosion.

Winamac Fire Chief Bill Weaver says the cause of the explosion has not yet been determined. The State Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to investigate. Investigators from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office do not believe criminal activity was a factor.

 

The Winamac Volunteer Fire Department left the home just before 10 p.m.
