Farm Bureau Wants Greater Voice for Farmers in Transportation Decisions

The Indiana Farm Bureau says it is meeting with INDOT officials to discuss transportation issues on Tuesday in LaPorte.

This meeting is an extension of a legislative issue the Farm Bureau pushed during the 2016 session of the Indiana General Assembly. Specifically, Indiana Farm Bureau members have requested that INDOT consider rural residents and farmers more heavily when making their transportation decisions.

Farmland is often acquired for the construction of new transportation projects. Further, certain infrastructure projects are promoted by larger population areas within a given county.

The meeting will take place from 9:30 a.m. until Noon on Tuesday at the LaPorte District Office of INDOT.
