A North Judson man and his passenger were injured in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident last night on I-94 eastbound near Chesterton. It happened just before 8 p.m., according to the Indiana State Police. They say 31-year-old Erik M. Chessor had just merged onto the interstate from southbound State Road 49, swerved to avoid traffic that had slowed down ahead and lost control of his motorcycle.
Both Chessor and his passenger, 29-year-old Samantha N. Wilson-Sayre of Portage came to rest in the right lane. Chessor was taken to North Lake Methodist Hospital in Gary with non-life threatening injuries. Wilson-Sayre also sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Franciscan Hospital in Chesterton.
Neither was wearing helmets or safety clothing, according to the accident report.
