The Oregon-Davis School Board is planning for the upcoming school year as the current one draws to a close. They adopted mathematics textbooks as recommended during a special meeting Monday.

Students in kindergarten through 2nd grade will use a hybrid digital text, while students in 3rd through 6th grades will utilize GO Math! technology. Oregon-Davis Elementary Principal Bill Bennett says it works with or without the internet so students can do homework from anywhere.

At the high school, Principal Tim Pletcher says they’re shifting the sequence of Algebra I and II and Geometry to ensure students are prepared for standardized tests. The board approved the textbook recommendations unanimously.

They also set school lunch prices for 2016-17. They’re staying the same for all grade levels. O-D offers free breakfast to all students. Board members approved textbook fees as well. They will be posted soon on the corporation’s website and will include all fees for core courses. Interim Superintendent Jim Dermody notes amounts will vary for high school students based on the electives they choose.
