Knox PD Launches K9 Fundraising Efforts

The Knox Police Department is working to reestablish its K9 program and is seeking the public’s help to do so. Officer Chad Dulin is collecting donations to pay for the dog and cover the cost of training and equipment.

“Whether it’s $10 or $10,000, it’s all appreciated,” Dulin said. Donations are tax deductible and can be made out to the Knox City Police Department K9 Fund. They can be dropped off at city hall or the police department. A GoFundMe account has also been set up to collect money.

Dulin says the dog will help make the community safer by combating the drug problem. It will also be trained for tracking.

He’s already made arrangements for food and veterinary care donations for the dog after it is purchased and is looking to raise $17,000 as soon as possible in order to purchase the dog and complete training.
