Stolen Car Recovered, Teens Arrested

 
 

A car reported stolen in Fort Wayne was recovered in LaPorte Wednesday night, and two teenagers in the vehicle were arrested.

LaPorte Police stopped the 2008 Pontiac Grand Am in the 3000 block of Oakdale Ave. for a tail light violation, according to a news release. Officers confirmed the car was stolen. The front seat passenger, a 17-year-old Fort Wayne boy was alleged to have taken the vehicle. He faces a charge of auto theft as a Level 6 felony and was also found to be wanted in Fort Wayne for burglary and theft. He was taken to the Juvenile Services Center.

So was the driver, a 17-year-old LaPorte boy. He’s charged with never receiving a driver’s license. The two rear-seat passengers, ages 16 and 17, were interviewed and released to a parent. Neither were charged with a crime.
