An investigation is ongoing following what the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department says is a suspected overdose death.
Officers responded to the 3100 block of Edgebrook Drive in the Weatherstone Village Complex just before 3:00 a.m. 36-year-old Andrew Trott was found unresponsive by a woman living at the residence.
Trott was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Michigan City, but was unable to be revived. He was pronounced dead following medical care. Investigators believe Trott may have injected himself with an unknown substance just prior to his death.
This isn’t the first time officers have been called to the residence for a reported overdose. It was noted in the press release, however, that the victim in that incident recovered.
The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department says the matter remains under investigation by detectives and the LaPorte County Metro Narcotics unit.
