Dollar General Robbery Suspect In Custody

Robbery suspect 5
In this surveillance footage from the Plymouth Dollar General robbery, the suspect can be seen walking into the store. Witnesses say he wore the same white baseball cap and black sweatshirt during all four robberies.

The man accused of robbing four Northern Indiana stores, including Dollar Generals in Plymouth and North Judson, has been arrested.

Cedar Lake Police Department Deputy Chief Carl Brittingham confirms the arrest in a brief statement posted on the department’s Facebook page.

He says the man was arrested in an unspecified other state last evening and will have a court appearance today. Brittingham adds his name is being withheld at this time due to the “sensitivity of this multijurisdictional case.” A news conference will be scheduled after charges are filed in federal court.

He’s described as a middle-aged white man who was wearing jeans, a black sweatshirt and a white baseball cap when he robbed stores in Crown Point, Plymouth, North Judson and Cedar Lake. Police from all four communities worked with the FBI on the investigation. The four robberies occurred over a five-day span. The first was in Crown Point on Wednesday, March 9. The Plymouth Dollar General was robbed last Friday evening, and the North Judson store was hit late Sunday afternoon. The next day a Walgreen’s in Cedar Lake was robbed.
