Indiana-Department-of-Homeland-SecurityThe Indiana Department of Homeland Security is encouraging local governments to apply for their public safety project grants.

The funds are designed to address a few of the state department’s goals, including life-saving activities, day-to-day operations, and improvements to existing capabilities in certain departments.

According to a press release, the grant funds are available for up to $4-thousand to Emergency Management Agencies, Fire Departments, law enforcements, and emergency medical services.

The IDHS says that they awarded more than $370-thousand in 2015 as part of the program, including 101 departments in 61 counties.
