Knox Mayor Reports Progress on Splash Pad Project

City_of_Knox_LogoThe splash pad Knox Mayor Dennis Estok envisions adding at Wythogan Park is close to becoming a reality in time for warm weather. The mayor told the city council last week he’s gotten the labor for the concrete, plumbing and excavation donated.

The city still needs to line up an electrician to do the work. Estok is hoping to get that service donated as well. His goal is to start construction as soon as the ground thaws.

Estok also told the city council officials are working on a Play Space Investment Grant application to cover part of the cost of an ampitheatre in the park. It requires a one-to-one match from the park board. That grant application is due April 1st.
