Knox City Council Approves Fire Protection Contracts

The Knox Volunteer Fire Department will continue to provide fire protection service to Center Township and the northeast part of Jackson Township for the next two years.

The Knox City Council Tuesday evening approved an extension of the current contracts between the department and the townships. They will each pay a flat rate of $5,000 per year to the city for the service.

The portion of Jackson Township served by Knox is north of County Road 50 South to the Kankakee River and 50 South east of County Road 100 West. The area is located northeast of Toto.
