A Sunday afternoon traffic stop for speeding on U.S. 30 in Starke County ended with a trip to jail for a Huntington County man.

A Starke County Sheriff’s Deputy pulled a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Jossue Estrada Ugalde of Warren, Ind. over for speeding just east of County Road 500 East around 2:45 p.m., according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Ugalde agreed to a search of his vehicle, during which the deputy reportedly found a white plastic bag tied in a knot that contained a hard substance. It field-tested positive for methamphetamine, according to county officials. The total weight of the drugs was approximately 10 grams.

Uglade faces a Level 4 felony possession of methamphetamine charge and a charge of operator never licensed. He was also cited for driving 89 in a 55 mile-per-hour zone.
