Red Cross Seeks Seasonal Blood Donations

The American Red Cross is asking local residents to consider donating blood during the holiday season.

The organization says in a press release that with the holidays coming up, fewer people are able to fit blood donations into their schedules. Those who want to donate must often cancel their appointments due to bad weather or seasonal illness. That makes it even more important for those who are eligible step up and donate do so since the need for blood remains steady.

Locally, blood drives will take place this coming Wednesday at West Central High School in Pulaski County from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and at The Front Room (at 424 Lane Street) in North Judson from 3 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Additionally, you can donate blood at the WKVI Studio (at 400 W. Culver Road) in Knox on Tuesday, December 1 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and at the Knights of Columbus (at 340 E. 50 N.) in Winamac on Wednesday, December 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
