LaPorte 13-year-old Accused of Brandishing BB Gun in Floor Licking Case

LaPorte Police have taken a 13-year-old into custody after receiving a report of threats made with a weapon.

Officers responded to the YMCA in LaPorte Friday evening, around 8:30 p.m. Staff members at the facility explained that a 13-year-old boy, who will not be named as a result of his status as a minor, allegedly pointed a BB gun at the face of another child.

According to information provided by the LaPorte Police Department, the 11-year-old victim was playing soccer when the suspect allegedly began questioning where the individual lived and asking the victim’s name.

No information was provided according to a report of the incident. That’s when the 13-year-old told the victim to “lick the floor,” according to the report; allegedly using the weapon to make the threat.

Other children present at the site intervened, allowing the victim to run from the area.

The incident was reported to YMCA staff who immediately called police. Staff members confronted the 13-year-old who denied the allegations before leaving the area.

LaPorte Police located the accused at his home a short time later, confiscating the BB gun and placing him under arrest. He was transported to the Juvenile Services Center.
