High Wind Warning Issued for Northern Indiana

A high wind warning is in effect for our area until late tonight. South winds are expected to veer southwest and rapidly increase this morning. By afternoon they will become west, according to the National Weather Service. Sustained wind speeds of between 25 and 40 miles per hour are expected, with widespread gusts of 50 to 55 miles per hour.

Tree and power line damage is likely, and tall vehicles on north south roadways may have a difficult time. A wind ban is in effect for the entire length of the Indiana Toll Road until 7 p.m. EST/6 p.m. CST this evening. All triple tractor-trailers, high-profile long doubles and other high profile permit loads are prohibited. Other vehicle loads are allowed while the ban is in effect.
