WKVI Hosts Successful Benefit for Tom Berg

50s 60s night 21The force was strong Saturday night as community members turned out to a benefit for WKVI morning show host (and Star Wars fanatic) Tom Berg. He was recently diagnosed with State 4 cancer. Proceeds from the station’s 1950s-60s night at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center will help him pay his medical expenses.

Cover band Classic Vinyl headlined the event, which featured costume, limbo, hula hoop and twist contests, a root beer float stand and refreshments. The benefit raised more than $1,400 for Tom, thanks to the generosity of businesses and individuals who donated items for the silent auction and raffles, food and drinks and those who attended.
