Among the settlement agreements discussed was with former Veterans Service Officer Terry Turner. An age discrimination claim was filed with the state civil rights commission following his termination on June 15th.
As part of the settlement agreement, Turner’s claim filed will be dropped, provided Starke County supplies a neutral reference on future employment prospects.
Turner and Starke County are not the only parties included in the agreement. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission will be asked to review the settlement; and to cease their investigation of the age discrimination claim following adoption by both parties.
The Starke County Commissioners approved the settlement agreement, unanimously.
