Indiana Supreme Court to Decide Pulaski County Land Dispute

The Indiana Supreme Court has decided to hear a case out of Pulaski County.

The land dispute between Tom Bonnell and Ruby Cotner will be held this morning.

According to a brief in the case, the Pulaski County Circuit Court held a bench trial and entered a judgment declaring Bonnell to be the owner of the land. He had received a deed for the property from the Pulaski County Commissioners on a tax sale.

The Court of Appeals reversed the decision and provided instructions to enter judgment for the Cotners on their claim of adverse possession.

The Supreme Court has assumed jurisdiction over the case and will hear oral arguments this morning at 9:45. There’s no indication of how soon they may issue a final ruling.
