WKVI’s Tom Berg Leaves for Bucket List Trip

IMG_5829WKVI morning show host Tom Berg is Las Vegas bound, thanks to the generosity of the community. He was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic colon cancer. WKVI General Manager Lenny Dessauer set up a GoFundMe page to help Tom check items off his bucket list.

They include a trip to Las Vegas to enjoy shows, play poker and see the sights and a trip to San Francisco.

Prior to his departure yesterday several listeners stopped by the radio station to wish him well.

Tom’s agenda includes the Cirque du Solei Beatles show and Penn and Teller while in Vegas and a trip to Alcatraz in San Francisco. He’s looking forward to the entire experience.

WKVI General Manager Lenny Dessauer spearheaded the GoFundMe campaign for Tom’s bucket list.

Dessauer presented Tom a giant check for $10,500 from GoFundMe at the end of his show yesterday.

Tom has another round of chemotherapy scheduled when he returns from his trip. His appetite is returning, and his weight has leveled off after a significant drop. He will return to the WKVI airwaves on Monday, Sept. 21 but will be checking in periodically during his trip. Tom and his travel companions will also be posting throughout their journey on in the Facebook group Tommy B’s journey through beating cancer.
